Whip your hair!

By: Shada Hodson
Willow Wmith at the age of 9 has a very unique and opened mind when its comes to fashion , her look inspires other kids and maybe adults to be there self and have a open mind dont matter how old or young you are. Willow dresses out of the norm and instead of wearing plain shirts and jeans, she can transform any plain outfit into something fashionable. Just like this particular outfit fits her stlye from head to toe; from the gold chain to the cut sides of her hair, to the pants she's wearing which are inspired from styles of the 90's.  She's bringing the crazy colors  and amazing fashion to the new genration and has inspired me to think that no matter what the situation is, dressing true to yourself can inspire others around you.

Rules for Leggings

 By: Yilin Chen (senior)

I’m gonna say it right out loud: I hate it when girls wear spandex as pants! Okay well, sometimes we are feeling lazy and there is nothing else to wear except a hoodie and leggings. HOWEVER, girls, please please please make sure y’all cover your behinds! Or at least wear the proper undergarments. It’s a unfortunate when a spandex-as-pants wearing girl is marching around school flashing  everyone with their chonies. You can fix this problem! Buy thicker leggings! Before you buy, stretch them out to and look to see if they are transparent. If they are for even a bit, do not buy! Also, pairing spandex with a nice long tank or loose tee to cover your bottom is a great outfit for those lazy days. Being comfortable doesn’t mean you gotta make others feel uncomfortable!  ;)

AA’s winter legging is the perfect combination of comfort and classy. See look! No underwear showing and they’re even white!
Also, Urban Outfitters sells a variety of Jeggings!

DIY dress for Homecoming

Jackie's dress for Homecoming was gorgeous! But did you know, she decorated it herself? She bought a simple white tube dress  but then glued studs, sequins, and rhinestones for a bit of a flourish. Cute, creative, and very classy!

HC nails

CATWALK members, Megumi, Ayumi, &Beverly did their own nails for the Homecoming Dance!

Ayumi decorated her nails with a simple clear coat and a white stickered designs. Megumi used a shiny blue color with Hawaiian flowers for her nails. As for Beverly, she painted her fingers with black and white. For her thumbs, she drew little tuxedos! SO CUTE!

I don’t understand football.

By: Ashley Lee
I have to admit, I’m not the biggest football fan. Wait, no, I take it back, I don’t understand football at all. First down at the fifty, SAY WHAT? Though, this didn’t stop me from coming to the homecoming game this year, which was in fact my very FIRST homecoming game! I have to say though; the events that led up to the homecoming game were a tad more exciting. This, of course, included working with fellow freshman on our class float (which by the way came in second place after the seniors) in room D-18 for a very rushed and hectic 3 hours.
Here's a reminder as to why the freshman got second:

Make Me A Superhero

Last week was Homecoming Court Spirit Week at our High School, and one of the days required Court to dress up as superheroes. With no time to shop for any official outfits, our Court members put their creativity to the test, and used their own resources to construct their 'hero' look.

Above is Elyssa Pak, our senior class president. With a simple gold jacket and headband, add a red shirt and a tight blue skirt, she cut put some cut up stars all over, and viola! you've got wonderwoman.
Second, we have Mr. Jeffrey Nagasawa, who decided to pick superman as the hero he'd imitate. Smart boy, he threw on a blue tee with the superman logo, and put on a simple white dress shirt. To spice up and enhance the outfit, he perfected it with some black nerdy glasses and red vans. As if he's ready to save the world, Nagasawa is Clark Kent.

Lastly, we have senior Karen Cheng as Batgirl :) Personally constructing and styling this particular outfit, she pieced together a black shirt and skirt, and added a cut out of batman's logo. Completing the look, you can't forget the cute belt and the sexy black boots!

New favorite store: Barnes and Nobles

By: Ashley Lee (Freshman)

I’ve always been a bookworm, and it’s not the most amazing thing to see me at the teen novel section at the Barnes and Nobles store across from the Puente Hills mall. However, one day as I was with my friends April, Ash, and Tiff we came across the most unique set of books.  Strategically placed next to each other were the two books, one titled: “What’s your poo telling you?” and the other: “What’s my pee telling me?” Both  were co-written by Josh Richman and Anish Sheth. Of course, we couldn't resist venturing just a little bit into the two books, and immediately we were introduced to a very interesting table of contents page, filled with titles like “The Sit vs. The Squat”, “Floater’s vs. Sinkers”, “Déjà Poo”, and the “Chinese Star”.

Surprisingly, this wasn’t the only interesting find of the day. We somehow stumbled upon Halloween themed books that we read as first graders, as well as a most interesting collection of Harry Potter memorabilia. Of course Barnes and Noble sells Harry Potter books, but selling Harry Potter wands? So yes, if you haven’t realized, a bookstore is indeed fun.

LC 's Book Signing

By: Chelsea Fu, Kelly Lin, & Natalie Hsiao (Juniors)

From Chelsea: October 8th 2010, I met my longtime inspiration:  Lauren Conrad. Along with my friends Kelly and Natalie who are equally obsessed with her, we showed up at The Grove in Hollywood to report for her Style book signing. MEETING HER: felt like a dream. For the three of us, Miss Conrad has stood as an important fashion icon in our lives, and we definitely were thrilled to be just a couple feet in closeness to her. It’s no surprise, she looked even prettier in person; like a Barbie doll.
Needless to say, we were definitely dressed to impress LC, especially since she tweeted about finding her favorite outfit worn by her ‘fans’ that night!
However, I do have to mention that sorting our outfits for the signing was undeniably one of the hardest decisions I had to make that day L; a need to impress is a must!
And although we weren’t able to obtain a close up picture with our lovely icon, the experience is one that will truly be memorable J
Miss Conrad’s(LC) Style book is a wonderful guide to style and fashion. Included are tips on how to style yourself at the right time, what the essential must-have clothes and accessories are, and how to form your own clothes and incorporate her style into yours. In addition, she offers certain finishing touches to complete your look for the day.
An amazing book in itself, so hurry and get it!

From Kelly:
Chelsea, Natalie and I, prefer to call ourselves ‘TH3’ which would translate to : (The Hills 3). Traveling as ‘TH3’, we were ecstatic to meet our absolute favorite: MISS LAUREN CONRAD. Though many celebrities seem hard to approach and full of pride, it’s safe to say, LC was the exact opposite. Genuinely interested in her fans, she made conversations with every group there, and her facial expressions were just the cutest! It’s no doubt she truly obtains a pristine personality. Completely starstruck, we managed to talk with her for a few minutes, and her lovely charisma could definitely be felt.
Her new fashion guide ‘STYLE’ is utterly amazing. A must-buy, the topics of this book range from finding the perfect outfit for a specific occasion, to reaching vintage finds from thrift stores. She also manages to teach readers how to find the right pair of jeans. And I have to say, her lists on the essentials of a closet, as well as tactics on how to approach a messy closet was a big plus! Real inspirations overflow in this fantastic book to fashion; and beauty tips, as well as accessory ideas are just one of the included subjects in this efficient guide.

From Natalie: Lauren Conrad’s new Style book is great. Aside from giving readers a taste of her fashion, she also provides tips on how to construct your outfit, maintain your clothes, and how to do the best matching! Another great thing the book offers, is teaching readers how to pack for trips; she really breaks it down for you and tells you just the right amount to bring! My absolute favorite section of the book has to be the part where she coaches on how to mix patterns! *Sometimes I hesitate when attempting to match in fear of being too overwhelming, but she definitely shows you a way to make it work. Get the book and you will not regret it; there’s just too much crucial information you need to know!
